Robert Allen

Robert Allen and his brother James Allen were in Brunswick Co., VA by 1742 (Court minutes and Land records). His son Reynolds Allen (Sr.) and wife Mary sold land in Brunswick Co., VA 1745. When the NC/VA state line was surveyed in 1746, NC gained land from VA and Reynolds Allen was put in Granville Co., NC (the part that later bacame Bute and then Warren Co., NC.) Robert Allen shows up in the 1790 census, Granville Cty, Hillsborough dist. pg 89a pt 2 (ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/nc/granville/census/1790grn.txt) ------------------------- Other researchers show a different set of parents for this family.
