Mary Polly Setzer
In looking at pages on the WorldConnect Project, it appears that there is a common interest in the Setzer family.

Mary "Polly" Setzer (b. about 1787), daughter of Adam Setzer (b. 1758) and Elizabeth Arney (b. about 1762) is believed to be my 3rd great-grandmother. The history of the Yearwood family indicates that she was the first wife of William Yearwood (b. 1780) in South Carolina.

William Yearwood and Mary "Polly" Setzer are said to have married about 1802 and to have had a son Elijah Yearwood (b. 1807), my gg-grandfather. The Yearwood family indicates that Polly Setzer Yearwood died about 1808. William Yearwood married second to Martha Dickson and their first child was Thomas Yearwood (b. April 2, 1810).

William Yearwood served in the army in the War of 1812 under Stonewall Jackson, and later, he and his son Thomas served in the Seminole War in Florida. Three of his sons served in the Mexican War under Winfield Scott, and his son William died of wounds received at Cerro Gordo. A land grant from the deceased son William was passed to my gg-grandfather Elijah Yearwood (his half-brother), and Elijah claimed land in Arkansas where he had settled prior to 1860.

I appreciate seeing the information you have posted on the older generations of this family. I will appreciate sharing information of these related families.
